The anti-lead ammunition advocates claim that there are over 500 studies that prove the connection between hunters’ lead ammunition and lead poisoning in humans and wildlife. Unfortunately, this “Master Bibliography” is yet another misleading attempt by the anti-lead ammunition campaign to mislead the public.

Hunt for Truth scientists have dissected the “Master Bibliography” to categorize the arguments, and systematically debunk critical aspects of these papers that are relied on by the anti-lead activists to demonize lead ammunition. Interestingly, most of these 500 papers don’t even mention lead ammunition at all, but instead deal with lead in the environment, hardly an indictment of lead ammunition

Those few papers in the “Master Bibliography” that actually claim to show a link between lead ammunition and lead poisoning, fail to provide a well reasoned and convincing argument against lead ammunition. Indeed, several of the major papers relied on by the anti-lead activists, have been thoroughly debunked, which resulted in the defeat of several proposed lead ammunition bans.
